Mindful Warrior Alliance is a nonprofit that serves active duty military clients in financial need of affordable mental health counseling. As you are well aware, there is a tremendous gap in support for our military members when it comes to fertility related coverage as well as stigma free quality mental health care. Many military members do not access mental health care due to Tricare barriers and fear of diagnosis and documentation. By offering 6 free therapy sessions to you, we are providing stigma free mental health care to our military clients who are truly in need of mental health services and financial support.
If you can afford full-fee psychotherapy sessions, we ask that you do not use Mindful Warrior Alliance’s service, but rather go to https://www.readysetmindful.com/ and schedule a consult with therapist Kerri Bicskei. If you have questions regarding whether Mindful Warrior Alliance is right for you, please contact us at kerri@mindfulwarrioralliance.org.
You can switch therapists and even take breaks from therapy, and you won’t have to pay the application fee again.

Mindful Warrior Alliance is a nonprofit organization. We use the funds we receive from your one-time application fee to sustain a small support staff, maintain our website, pursue grants and other avenues of funding, and recruit new therapists nationwide. Therapists in private practice can charge between $150 per-$250 session. Mindful Warrior Alliance is a network of psychotherapists practicing privately who have agreed to provide free (for 6 sessions) and low cost rates to military members struggling with fertility related challenges. We’ll never ask for your financial records because we trust that if you’re seeking our services, it’s because you really need them.
-
Once you’ve submitted your application and paid the one-time $75 application fee to Mindful Warrior Alliance via debit or credit, we will send you an email containing your therapist's information and a scheduling link. This will allow you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation to determine if you and the therapist are a suitable match. If you find that the fit isn’t right, there’s no need for concern; we will assist you in being matched with a therapist you feel comfortable with.
Once you have found the right therapist, you will be set to begin your six free therapy sessions. You will coordinate scheduling directly with your therapist. After these six sessions, you will have the opportunity to discuss a fair and affordable rate with your therapist should you decide to continue therapy with them.

If you would like to work with a couples therapist, you and your partner just need to pay for one Mindful Warrior Alliance application fee. Similarly, if you would like to work with a family therapist, you just need to pay for one Mindful Warrior Alliance application fee on behalf of the family.
-
Mindful Warrior Alliance relies on the application fee to help us facilitate the opportunity for military members and spouses to seek 6 free counseling sessions to address fertility related mental health challenges. While we won’t refund your fee, if your therapist is not the right match, you are welcome to see any other therapist in our network without paying an additional fee. Your Mindful Warrior Alliance application fee allows you to seek 6 free counseling sessions per year. We routinely add new member clinicians to our network. Please contact us at kerri@mindfulwarrioralliance.org if you wish to change therapists.

All of the therapists who participate in Mindful Warrior Alliance are in private practice, which means they handle their own appointment scheduling. You can reach out directly to your therapist to book appointments.

In order to learn more about a given therapist’s availability, we recommend that you contact them directly. Please know that therapists’ availability will vary quite a bit. While some therapists may have availability within a few days, others may not have an open slot for more than a week.
-
Please contact kerri@mindfulwarrioralliance.org if you wish to change therapists. We will need to update your email with the new therapist’s name and contact information before you can start attending sessions with your new therapist.
-
We understand that finding the right fit is extremely important in therapy, and that we may not always be able to offer your ideal therapist. Please email us and we will see what we can do for you. Our goal is to recruit many more therapists as we grow our network.

Remote therapy, also called teletherapy or telehealth, is a form of psychotherapy in which a psychotherapist meets with a client via telephone, cell phone, the internet, or other electronic platform in place of or in addition to conventional face-to-face psychotherapy.
Online therapy offers many benefits for clients and allows clients to access therapy from the comfort of their own home. Commuting is often a barrier for clients and online therapy is a very convenient way to access quality mental health care, especially for our busy military members and spouses.
-
Absolutely not. Everything that occurs between you and your therapist is completely confidential. Our model allows us to never involve Tricare and therefore no documentation or clinical notes or diagnosis will ever be provided to them. That is a promise. We are always open to receiving feedback on your experience, however. Please feel free to email us at kerri@mindfulwarrioralliance.org if you have any further questions.
-
This decision is completely between you and your therapist.
-
Unfortunately, we cannot. While we do everything we can to ensure that your therapist is qualified and licensed, we are not responsible for anything that occurs in your relationship together. Please see our terms of service for more information.
-
The rate will be a sliding scale rate based on what you can afford and what you and your therapist agree on. If you are seeing a therapist who is pre-licensed, your rate will be $30 per session.
